Why is weather.com never accurate for our area? I just don’t understand.
The screenshot above was taken a few minutes ago. The “high” today is supposed to be 82. It’s already 92 and it’s just before 11 am. I don’t get it. It’s not like this is a fluke either. They are consistently inaccurate with temperatures and forecasts for our area. The only good thing about the site is their radar imagery.
Why am I sniveling about the weather?
We live in Northern Maine. It’s not supposed to be 90+ degrees here, at least not very often. And when it’s 90+ here the humidity is makes it doubly bad. 90 degrees in the desert is a pleasant day. It’s not the heat. It’s the humidity. I have a hard time with it. I don’t know how people can choose to live in places like Florida.
My solution to beat the heat here at the house is to pump 45 degree water straight from our well through the floors in the house. We have radiant floor heat in a concrete slab downstairs. I figured there’s no reason why that system can’t be used to cool us too. It takes a few hours to drop the floor temperature from the mid 70s to the mid 60s and what an amazing difference it makes. Walking into the house from outside on a day like today feels like walking into air conditioning. (We do have a couple of air conditioners but they are in storage and we don’t use them.)
I don’t know why I’m sniveling. I just hate sitting still and sweating. Working in front of a computer isn’t supposed to be a sweaty job.
I’m looking forward to our storms tonight. Hopefully they last long enough to cool everything down for a day or two and maybe I can finish organizing the garage.
