Waiting for Winter

driveway in mud seasonI’m not a big fan of summer. It’s hot, humid and there’s bugs. The last couple of days I’ve been longing for the fall foliage season and looking forward to winter. I started looking though some of the hundreds of photos on my computer that haven’t been posted and found this one. It’s our driveway in April, otherwise known as “mud season”.

Mud season sucks. It signals the end of winter and is a harbinger of Spring. Spring is nice, not many bugs, very few humid days and generally pleasant weather. And there’s lots of mud too.

It’s time to start prepping prepping for winter. No more procrastinating on all of those warm weather projects that need to be wrapped up before the snow flies. There’s trim to scrape and paint. A generator to install. Firewood to cut, split and stack. A car port to enclose and maybe even poor a concrete pad. All of these tasks wouldn’t be so aggravating if it wasn’t so damn humid. I guess it could be worse. I could live in Ohio or Connecticut where the humidity is much worse.

In the mean time I can look forward to winter. I hope it’s as good as the last one we had.
