Hi, perhaps you could help me answer my question. I grew up in South Australia seeing old 40 series long wheel base trucks kicking around all the time. Infact there’s still plenty on the road still today. Why is there so much interest for these old buses in the US?
This trucks are very rare in North America, especially the U.S. The U.S. never got the diesel versions of any of the Land Cruiser series.
These old troop carrier models make an excellent base for an overland camping rig capable of going just about anywhere and back. That’s why I wanted one. Can’t really speak for other people though.
understood, well you have a good platform for a long distance camper. There’s still many on the road in Oz. Would love to see your developments on the old bus. Best regards and thanks for sharing. Marty
