We’re getting back on the road tomorrow…
We’ve been in Cleveland for a couple of days visiting with family for mother’s day. We’ll get back on the road tomorrow with our next stop planned as Moab, UT. It will most likely take us three days to get there. The next couple of nights will be spent at hotels. We’ll look ‘em up on DogFriendly.com while on the road. In-car internet access is a wonderful thing
I changed the oil again today in the Cruiser. It’s been using quite a bit of oil, about a half of a quart in 150 miles. I put another can of Engine Restorer in and my oil pressure dropped by 10 psi at highway speeds. It would drop to almost nothing at idle and the engine would stall. It was cause for much concern. I doubt I’ll ever use that stuff again.
We picked up a filter and some 20w50 full synthetic oil today. The oil pressure seems to be back up where it should be on a quick test drive. I’m going to watch it closely, especially for the next 500 miles or so. Low oil pressure is not a good thing when driving across the country.
BTW, we passed 1,000 miles on the ride out to Vermilion, OH this morning. I’m guessing we’ll end up close to 7,000 miles on this trip by the time we get home.
