Christmas at Camp

sleeping-at-camp

This year we stayed in Maine for Christmas. Since the weather was going to be pleasant with highs in the low 30s we decided to ski into camp for the night. We took the dogs too. After five miles of hills and valleys this is me and the pups falling asleep at 3:30 in the afternoon. I didn’t wake up until 8:30 am the next day. I guess I was tired.

On the way in we had a backpack on Philo. He carried their food and treats. It worked out great and he seemed to enjoy being special. We only saw one snowmobile the whole way. Didn’t see any on the way out.

Movies of skiing with the dogs after the break.

The dogs were really good on the snowmobile trail. They had fun chasing on the downhills and were pretty good about avoiding skis and poles. Our old little digital camera has a movie capture mode on it that I’ve never tried to use. These clips are the first time I’ve used it. I’m pleasantly surprised with the image quality.

This was my view for 5 miles today:
