I’m not Rufus. Rufus was my dog, a merle Great Dane that I took in before he was shipped off to the pound when I lived in CA. He lived to be ten years old which is a pretty good run for a dog his size. You’ll see pictures of Rufus and my other dogs randomly placed throughout the site. I miss him dearly sometimes and this blog is a way to honor that memory as well as have a little fun.
I once had someone email me wondering what the “T” is for in Rufus T. Doofus. It’s for his middle name, “The”. Rufus was first called “The Doofus” by a friend of mine’s kids while camping at Ocotillo Wells. It stuck.
I’m a 30 something, married guy living in the Western Mountains area of Maine. My wife and I build websites for a living. That’s us in the photo at the top of this page enjoying the fire at our camp on Jim Pond. We have two “kids”: Cody, a 9 y.o. female Staffordshire Terrier/Lab mix and Philo, a 5 y.o. male Staffordshire/German Shorthaired Pointer mix. Both are pound puppies.
This blog is primarily a way to keep my friends and family updated on what’s going on in my life. I’ve always got a project going or we’re traveling somewhere. I try to post pictures of our trips to Mexico and beyond and the latest tinkerings on our old 40 series Toyota Land Cruisers.
I intentionally limit any personally-identifiable information on this site. If you don’t know who I am that’s probably a good thing for both of us.
